Adorable hotel with great staff, and the kitchen is amazing with a real good price for the food. The place is amazing for people wanting to be central to Puerto Escondido and Zicatela. It’s quiet and relaxing. Just down the road (2min away) is the beach and it’s a good spot in Zicatela to swim. The waves aren’t as intense as on the strip. You’ve got places to go out not too far as well. I ended up extending my stay cause it was so great here

I found my stay here to be super relaxing. My favorite part was lying in the hammock on their roof terrace while reading and staring at the ocean. I stayed in a balcony room. The balcony itself is really just a standing platform outside the window, but I enjoyed sitting in bed and looking out the window at the palm trees. The room and hotel is five stars in the cleanliness category. So other potential guests understand the situation, I do have to mention the hotel has all these cute concrete wall cutouts that I think serve for both decoration and ventilation. But it also results in a lack of being sound proof. It sounds at times like you are showering or using the toilet with your neighbor as a result. That said, I would still go back. I travel with ear plugs, so I found I slept well, and the staff at the hotel were all so kind and laid back, it felt like a spa vacation to me.

This Hotel is so perfectly situated in Puerto Escondido that it makes everything so much easier. The front desk was warm and thoughtful (gave us the best recommendations). The upstairs roof bar and pool is where everyone wants to be as it has a legendary view. Even though the hotel was full it never felt crowded. Food and drinks were top notch and low prices relative to rest of town. One of the beach’s is 50 steps away, but all the other cool areas and actually walkable or at least very short can ride away. There are many return visitors staying at this hotel and they all said new owners added great A/C and upgraded the bathrooms making this place a steal as their rates stayed the same. I’m 100% coming back here.

Lucky find for a solo female traveler! Very happy with my stay at Hotel Flor de Maria. The staff, the owners, the food and drinks are all 5 stars! Everyone was welcoming and seemed happy to be there. I also loved the traditional style of the hotel. The room was clean and cozy. There are beautiful murals, art, and plants everywhere... they really make the experience feel exotic and poetic. Delicious food is served at the hotel or you can try some great restaurants and venues at an easy 5 -15 minute walk down Av. Del Morro. (La Mariinera for ceviche and shrimp, Guino Café for yummy lattés, Paradise Gym for a workout on the beach) + Many stops for fresh coconuts :) You can swim at the beach in front in the morning, more wavy in the afternoon when I was there (February). A nice lil' 45 minute stroll down the beach will get you to spots you can swim in all day long. That area is called La Punta and has so many fun events to go to. (You can also pay 12 pesos to ride the "collectivo bus" that will get you to that area in 5 minutes.) I was surprised to hear that the hotel was 80%-100% full while I was there, it never felt crowded. The terrace and pool were so peaceful. The main barman Vladimir was warm, professional, and incredibly talented for making fresh drinks. He sets the tone for a soothing rooftop afternoon. It felt safe, as the gate is closed at night and there is always someone at the front desk. And laundry could be sent off from the hotel and returned within 48 hours. Sharing all this because I know it can be helpful info to have from the get-go. But know that staff is super available for questions and adjustments if needed. All-in-all, it was the lil paradise vacation I was hoping for. Well done!

We enjoyed our stay here. The room was large and came with good air conditioning (which was vital!). The staff we interacted with were all very helpful. The location is ok if you are mostly planning to enjoy the rooftop pool and bar and relax in the hotel - if you are planning to explore more of Puerto Escondido, this hotel is located slightly awkwardly in between the main areas. We were also let down by the incident mentioned in the below review. Although the hotel advertises itself as "adults only for a relaxing experience", there were several children in the pool on one afternoon which impacted on our experience - especially as they were diving into the pool, which was both disruptive and dangerous. They ruined one of the guests' books and did not apologise. I do not know why the staff allowed them inside.

Really nice small place with a great atmosphere and very helpful staff. The restaurant serves tasty food at good prices, and drinking water is conveniently provided from a dispenser in the common area. The rooms are clean, with fresh white sheets and towels. The location is excellent—close to the beach—and there is a beautiful terrace with a small pool and hammocks, perfect for watching the sunset. The main downside is the noise: you can hear almost everything from both outside and inside, especially sounds from the corridor and neighboring rooms. Additionally, there is an open space between the bathroom and the room, which allows smells from the bathroom plumbing/sewage system to come into the room, which is not very pleasant.

Excellent hotel. The rooftop bar / pool is great to have chill and few drinks and food. We ate both dinner and breakfast there and both were great. The woman who made and served us breakfast was so so lovely! And her breakfast was delicious. The staff are friendly and extremely helpful / kind. And the rooms have everything you would need- and nice and cool in the heat. 2 minute walk to the beach. Highly recommend.

Rooms were moderately nice. The service and the people that work there is what set them apart. Very accommodating and friendly! Where they fall short is the soap, its weirdly cherry smelling and its the same as the hand soap. If they had some nice soaps it would definitely bring this hotel to a 10/10. Its quiet and has a nice rooftop with pool. The scooter and atv rental was awesome also the laundry service is extremely convenient.
